Revised Artist Statement
I am fascinated with old pictures. I don’t know if it is because I feel that black and white photography is becoming extinct, or if I simply value the art of its craftsmanship. What I do know is that I am driven by the anticipation of discovering if any of them still work. I enjoyed using cellphone to take the old style pictures. Differ by the uniqueness of their limitations in relation to shutter speed, focal length, depth of field, camera model and type of APP. I feel like the black and white pictures can exactly tell people what I want to say.
All aspects of a cellphone camera have an effect on the quality of a photograph in which aesthetically could be utilized as and advantage. And although cellphone cameras could never produce sharp images like a digital camera, it does not matter because strong photography is not dependent upon the camera used, but upon the photographer. So I’m still learning how to use cellphone camera to tell the stories.
Through the farther exploring of new media art, I find a way to give my picture a live. Which is creating an animation, it can combine a series of pictures together. And I think animation not only gives the picture alive, but also helps me to tell a story. Moreover, I can incorporate animation with soundtrack. And my pictures are specking now!
Art of Noises
The Art of Noises (1912) by Luigi Russolo, which proposed to the musical establishment the introduction of machines for the production of noises in the development of musical pieces, in a time when the only conceived sound was the traditional tonal sounds from the instrument. So the Art of Noises becomes a Famous manifesto. Russolo’s manifesto was not a sudden influx of noise into Western music—the birth cry of musical modernity—but an intervention in a struggle as old as music itself. What Russolo attacked as the meagerness of the auditory sensorium at the dawn of the twentieth century was in fact the product of a protracted normalization of music enforced by the coordinated disciplines of aesthetics, instrumental technology, and music theory. The same process that tamed sound and enabled the stunning compositional constructions of European art music also drastically narrowed our ears’ perceptual bandwidth, and made us deaf to the world beyond the confines of concert music and its domesticated, well-behaved, “indoor instruments.” For a century now we have been learning how to hear anew. Russolo did not discover noise, but helped us to recover it.

On this LP of Dial-A-Poem Poets are 27 poets. The records are a selection of highlights of poetry that spontaneously grew over 20 years from 1953 to 1972, mostly in America, representing many aspects and
Different approaches to dealing with words and sound. In the middle of the Dial-A-Poem experience wqas the giant self-consuming media machine choosing you as some of its food, which also lets you get your hands on the controls because you’ve made a new system of communicating poetry.

Blogs#9 RiP: A Remix Manifesto
Recent advances in technology have led to the increased malleability of media like text, music, and video. Concurrent advances in the speed and flexibility of communication have resulted in the growth of information, where amateurs and regular citizens are making use of copyrighted content in the process of civic engagement. Meanwhile, others are using copyrighted content to build a culture of remixes and mash ups — essentially multimedia collages — exercising a great deal of wit and creativity in the process.
There is a fierce debate around intellectual property rights is playing out in the courtrooms of the world, involving everything from new technology patents to computer software licenses. But It seems it’s the music industry, and in particular those musicians fight for copyright reform of music sampling who offer one of most compelling illustrations of this ongoing tension. At least, that’s the impression we get from: A remix manifesto.
In the movie “RIP: A Remix Manifesto” they want to use fair use rule to against the Violation of using unpermitted music resource. As an exception to copyright, fair use has been keys to the freedoms individuals have in interacting online. Fair use permits individuals to do things that could otherwise be deemed illegal under copyright law — like using clips from a television show in a video produced to comment on a controversy related to the television show. The copyright statute codifies the following four factors in weighing whether or not the use of a copyrighted work is a fair use.
However, I agree with the point that the movie made, which are people have freedom to create new things. In nowadays, the copyright becomes the tool people use it to make money. There are some big companies for example, Warner Music Group, Sony Music Entertainment, and Universal Music Group. These companies have about 90% of music copyright and every year they use these copyright make billions dollars. The root of why people use copyright is to be a spur to artistic creativity and producing or singing to make their fans enjoy. But now the copyright becomes a cage that locks autistic’s creativity because most new things are based on old and traditional culture. People have to pay the companies who hold copyright in order to use the old and beautiful music or movie. I think if people continue doing that, it not only hurts the world culture but also hurts companies’ benefits in the long run since there are fewer new music or movie coming out.
In the movie, that a more subtle, sophisticated debate is being sacrificed in the interests of a video clip. I think director choose a rock star as spokesperson in not a good idea. There are so many issues foe instance; often emotional, that is so close to the surface of these characters that I often find myself pondering these, rather than the message at hand.

Blogs#8 Hacker Manifesto
In “The Hacker Manifesto,” the Mentor is justifying his existence as a hacker. He does that by describing what drives his interests as a hacker and what drove him to it and comparing that to society’s view of him. He compares the computers objectiveness to the judgment of society. “It does what I want it to. If it makes a mistake, it’s because I screwed it up. Not because it doesn’t like me… Or feels threatened by me.. (The Mentor).” He found a place where he belongs in the Internet and manipulating the information available, yet society looks upon this as a crime.
Mentor Claims that being a hacker is to “explore” and “ seek after knowledge”, hacking is a justifiable behavior. When it comes to me, I think hacking in most situations is unjustifiable. Hackers steal privacy information for example, passwords, codes, and locks from people for their own sake of good. Hacking into another entity’s system is, in most cases, morally reprehensible and a clear violation of their security and privacy rights. However, when we view hackers in another sides, they also can bring contributions to our society. For instance, some Internet companies hired hackers to attempt to hack their systems in order to test the security, looking for bugs to exploit and then make them aware to the relevant people. This kind of hacking is obviously much more acceptable than the use of hacking for one’s own unlawful personal gain. In cases of security and safety, hacking maybe the only source of protection. Otherwise, hacking is a way to accomplish meaningless tasks that only hurt instead of help. Hackers could put their computer skills for much better use.
Blog #6 Animation
A Thaumatrope is a toy that was popular in Victorian times. A disk or card with a picture on each side is attached to two pieces of string. When the string is twirled quickly between the fingers the two pictures appear to combine into a single image due to persistence of vision. I think Thaumatrope is the earlier vision of animation. A series of animation is assembled by many one second pieces. Thaumatrope is very important for the development of animation. It gives people a basic ideal of what is animation and inspires people to invent the new technologies.
